Do you ever feel overwhelmed? constantly worried? have unexplainable mood swings? or you find yourself simply wanting to shut down? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. These emotions are very normal, and shouldn’t be taken lightly either. In fact, mental health should be taken seriously and gladly our society is identifying this as a common problem.

Here are five symptoms you need to watch out for:

 1. Insomnia

Individuals who suffer from insomnia find it difficult to fall asleep, stay asleep, or both.

2. Hallucinations

Hallucinations are sensations that appear real but are created by your mind. They can affect all five of your senses.

3. Extreme mood swings or unexplained outbursts

You may have a medical condition if you switch from extremely happy to extremely depressed on a regular basis.

4. Panic Attacks

An intense episode of sudden fear that occurs when there’s no apparent threat or danger.

5. Paranoia

A thought process that causes you to have an irrational suspicion or mistrust of others. People with paranoia may feel like they’re being persecuted or that someone is out to get them.

If you’re experiencing any of these signs and symptoms it might be a good idea to talk to someone. It could be a psychologist, a friend, a family member or could consider joining a support group.
