Will Kenyans and the world ever know the truth surrounding the now famous Fake Gold Scandal?

After grave allegations were made of how the Royal Family was conned by a number of Kenyans in a fake Gold syndicate that involved Senior Government officials, it is now emerging that the United Arab Emirates Royal Family might have had nothing whatsoever to do with the bad business deal gone sour.

Reports are now emerging that UAE leader Sheikh Mohammed Maktoum might have been impersonated by a Gold trade broker.

The United Arab Emirates and Kenya have launcjed joint investigations to establish the true identity of the Gold broker only identified as Ali Zandi.

This is after it emerged that Ali Zandi, the man apparently conned 400 Million Shillings is a Canadian Citizen, born in Tehran, Iran.

It is believed that Ali Zandi used the name of Sheikh Mohammed Maktoum to push scammers into having his allegedely detained Gold Consignment released.

Detectives believe Zandi may have used the name of the UAE leader to scare off the alleged gold fraudsters after realising he may have been conned.

The twist comes after the UAE  rubbished claims that the country’s ruler was swindled out of Sh400 million in a fake gold deal.

In a statement, through UAE ambassador to Kenya Khalid Mualla, the country further said the country was not behind a  letter allegedly written to Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i over the matter.

At the same time,  the Directorate of Criminal Investigations denied claims it was already carrying out investigations into the matter.

Sources at the DCI indicated that no complaint has been forwarded to them to warrant investigations.

Well, the latest revelations will come as good news to Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula. The FORD Kenya party leader has been at the center of the Gold Scam after a leaked audio of him talking to Ali Zandi over the business deal gone sour went viral.

Apart from Wetangula, Opposition Chief Raila Odinga and Interior CS Fred Matiang’i have also been implicated in the scam with leaders from the Jubilee coalition calling for arrests to be made over the matter.

The Fact that the DCI is yet to begin investigations due to the fact that nobody has lodged a complaint with them only goes to show that this scandal is as good as dead and Kenyans might end up not knowing what really transpired.

Until then, we will continue to wait for more theories on the International Scam.
