Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu will have one hell of a weekend if the reports coming out of Integrity Center are anything to go by.

After a dramatic arrest this morning, Waititu was subjected to hours of grilling and questioning by Anti-Corruption Detectives at the Agency’s headquarters in Nairobi.

Sources within EACC have revealed that lawyers of the besieged governor have been in a frantic move to have him released today.

It has however been revealed that chances of having Waitititu released today are thin and he could end up spending the whole weekend behind bars should he be denied bail when he appears in court tomorrow.

It’s against such fears that the lawyers want the governor released on a bail and possibly rendered a favorable date to appear in court of law.

The investigators are believed to have prepared concrete evidence against the governor before they conducted an early morning raid at his City homes.

Confirming Waititu’s capture today, EACC’s Chief Executive Officer Twalib Mbarak said that Waititu was arrested after allegations of Money Laundering were labelled against him.

“Waititu should tell us how he acquired Jamii Bora House, a vacant plot nearby, Delta Hotel opposite central police and Solar House, yet when we campaigned together, he was as broke as any other aspirant,” he added.
