Manchester United halt Swansea’s Daniel James chase as the star mourns

Twenty-one-year-old Manchester United target Daniel James has been hit by a family tragedy amidst his £20m move to Manchester United after the Swansea starlet’s father has passed away suddenly at the age of 60 which means that there will be delays in finalizing his transfer to the club.

Although United will still sign James, the young footballer and his family need the appropriate time and space to deal with the bereavement. The winger, 21, was due to complete the move this week after United opened talks to sign him from the Liberty Stadium.

James has previously spoken of his immense pride about his family’s support and influence in the early phase of his career. His father watched his Wales debut on TV when he made his bow in Albania in a 1-0 defeat last November.

Ryan Giggs was able to pick James because his father was born in Aberdare and Wales can thank his late father if he fires the Red Dragons to another major tournament next summer.

The ex-Hull youth academy star has impressed for the Swansea this season chipping in with five goals and 10 assists in 38 games. He almost joined Leeds in January on deadline day only for the deal to be dramatically cancelled, with Whites owner Andrea Radrizzani left fuming.

Prior to his desire to join Manchester United, the star was rumoured to be in the process of heading to Brighton where his former manager Graha Potter has been appointed a the new manager after the former bo, Chris Hughton was shown the door following a poor run in the Premer League that saw the club finish just a spot to relegation.
