Why Ruto Should Approach Rift Valley Rebels

WHY the South-Rift Kalenjin are REBELLING against DP William Ruto

In the last one month, Rift valley politics seemed to be in a shamble. With some key defections from William Ruto’s camp, many political analysts have predicted a looming storm in the once united region.

Based on my Politico Inteligencia and critical analysis of rift valley politics, unity of purpose and togetherness is a useful vice that will propel the region’s political success not only as a community but also as a nation.

The 48 laws of power seem to work well in the rift valley than any other part of the country. The first law states that “Never outshine the master,
Make your masters appear more brilliant than they are and you will attain the heights of power

When it comes to power, outshining the master is perhaps the worst mistake of all. This is a mistake that several politicians in Kenya have made and met the unpleasant results, others headed for a political Oblivion while others struggling with their come back!

William Ruto seems to have mastered the art of politics in the valley and has positioned himself as a king who knows it all! Few politicians who have gone against him during electioneering period have narrowly survived! However, those branded as projects and sycophants to William Ruto at times have faced the wrath of voters.

Politics is dynamic and changes with time, what applied and worked well in yesterday’s politics might not work for tomorrow’s politics. The tribal incitements and propaganda have severally made voters stand strong defending their leaders even if they’re not getting much out of it.

Recently the former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Buzeki ditched Jubilee party to join Isaac Rutto’s Chama Cha Mashinani with other like-minded politicians, a move that elicited reactions across the country.

Buzeki has been enjoying the support of the Kikuyu community in Uasin Gishu County with the help of Huruma MCA Peter Peter Kiiru Chomba and his Langas counterpart.

Statistics on the ground indicates that Kikuyu votes in Uasin Gishu County are approximately 50-60k. Shortly after Buzeki ditching DP RUTO camp, William Ruto moved with speed not leaving anything to chance held a meeting with the two MCA’S who are alleged to be controlling the Kikuyu popular vote in Uasin Gishu County.

However, the agenda of the meeting and what was discussed remained scanty on the public domain but the public insinuation and hear says on the streets is that DP Ruto wants to control the Kikuyu votes in his backyard.

From this opinion, it is not too late for William Ruto to sermon the growing political rebellion from the likes of Isaac Ruto, Buzeki, Joshua Kutuny, Johana Ngeno, Nick Salat, Gideon Moi, Alfred Keter, Kamket and Tolgos. All these leaders command a good percentage of important votes which is needed to fill the presidential bucket come 2022.

As we speak, rift valley is gradually dividing into three Political camps: CCM, Jubilee and KANU and in an event where our business partners from Mt Kenya betrays and decamps the Jubilee, it will be hard to unite already divided region with several small parties with different ideologies once the Political temperatures go high.
