Wetangula’s pointsman slams Ruto for applying old KANU tactics to poach politicians

Moses Wetangula-led Ford Kenya Secretary General and Tongaren MP Dr Eseli Simiyu has taken an issue with Deputy President Dr William Ruto’s “poaching” of politicians from other parties, saying he entices them with government projects.

Dr Eseli has accused the DP of attempting to break other political parties through poaching of members with the intention of jeopardising their political careers.

“It is wrong for someone of the DP’s stature to promote this kind of lawlessness. This is an attempt to break other political parties through poaching of members with the intention of jeopardising their political careers,” he said.

He says Dr Ruto is trying to take Kenyans back to Kanu days when people were enticed with development projects in exchange for their support.

“The DP is taking us way back to Kanu days when people were enticed with development projects in exchange for their support. this is totally wrong. Every citizen in Kenya is entitled to development despite their political affiliation,” the official added.

His remarks follows the move by Trans Nzoia governor Patrick Khaemba to declare his support for the DP’s presidential bid. Ford Kenya has their presidential candidate for 2022, the Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula,  making it wrong for Khaemba to support another candidate.

Khaemba’s move came days after Turkana governor Josphat Nanok also dumped Raila Odinga-led ODM party for Ruto.

Ford Kenya also lost their deputy party leader Dr Boni Khalwale last week who decamped to Jubilee Party over his dalliance with Ruto.
