Although Apple is a coveted brand in China, netizens showed willingness to switch to Huawei could it reach a point where Google will cut ties with Huawei.

In the support, the Chinese accused the US for ‘bullying’ Huawei. The ‘bullying’ was clearly visible when Huawei chief finance officer boss was arrested in Canada in a scheme conspired by the US.

It escalated too fast with the US demanding to block Huawei from any software, hardware or technical skill assistance coming from an American company.

Google was the first compliant to the order and announced it would suspend some business partnership with Huawei. Later the US scaled back on the restrictions with a three months grace period after which they would put in place.

The turn of events was not taken lightly by Chinese citizens where Huawei commands a market of about 47% of its smart-phone sales.

The Chinese market consumption community is very enthusiastic about home brands, a culture that is propagated by the ruling communist party.

On Weibo, a post is recorded by CNBC News to have had almost 50 million views about 24 hours after Google made the announcement. The post read ‘Huawei’s chip doesn’t need to rely on U.S. supply chain’. In China, Weibo is an equivalent of Twitter.

Apple didn’t comment about the online boycott and is equally hesitant to talk about the ongoing Trump trade wars.
