Sofapaka, Chemelil Sugar shoot blanks in Machakos

Sofapaka FC and Chemelil Sugar played to a goalless draw in a Kenya Premier League played at Machakos Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The First half ended goalless after both sides with Kepha Aswani missing to chances in the closing minutes while Philip Muchuma’s goal in the final five minutes of the first stanza was ruled out.

Batoto Ba Mungu returned from the break seeking to bag three points which would have seen them keep their dream of finishing second. Aswani continued to knock at Chemelil’s door but his efforts were frustrated by the Millers Keeper ABuke .

Biko Tindi free kick nearly bore fruits but Ndikumana’s touch ensured that flying Chrispin Opondo did head the ball in the net. John Avire, on the other hand, failed to beat Chemelil Sugar keeper on a one on one situation.

In the final five minutes, Opondo brought down substitute Stephen Waruru and the referee awarded a free-kick but Avire’s curler was stopped by Chemelil’s keeper. Umaru Kasumba
