The debate about Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru as running mate for Deputy President William Ruto in 2022 is gaining momentum.
Governor Waiguru says she has received offers to be presidential running mate from two parties ahead of the 2022 polls.
The first time governor says she is considering the offers and will make an announcement at an appropriate time.
“I have at least two offers for the deputy president position, but it is not the right time to name the parties,” she said.
Deputy President William Ruto is currently seen as the front runner in Jubilee and the likely candidate for the party.
Waiguru’s announcement has elicited mixed reactions online with some Kenyans endorsing her, with others dismissing her ambitions.
The descent in the 2022 bid has been raised a question on their sanity was raised. A research report by the research firm Ipsos Synovate last year in August considered the two as the most corrupt in the country. DP Ruto who considered as the most corrupt individual ranked at 33 per cent followed by Waiguru at 31 per cent.
