Julius Masaba scores late brace for Kariobangi Sharks to share spoils with Ulinzi a third time

Ulinzi Stars who are 2010 Kenya Premier League winners went on a rampage in the fourth minute as Nandwa got the opener against the wavering Kariobangi stars in their midweek schedule played at, Afraha in Nakuru.

But the Sport Pesa cup winners who have drawn against Ulinzi in their last two visits in Afraha were very fast to respond after only two minutes a Harrison Mwendwa floated a corner which was headed in by Fidel Origa.

Kariobangi Sharks overcome KCB hurdle to book third Shield Cup final

The match had its intrigue as Sharks were forced into an early replacement immediately after their goal that saw Yidah Sven leave the ground and replaced by Oyugi which could have in a way affected the match in its entire first half.

The security men went on the rampage again on the 21st minute with Churchill striking from a twenty-five-yard distance scoring past the goalkeeper to make it two.

Kariobangi were punished for their defensive mistakes just three minutes after Churchill’s goal to make it three and safe for Ulinzi to play with a lot of ease for the remainder of the match after a poor ball clearance that saw Boniface Onyango put past the net.

Kariobangi showed their resilience in the second half and their hard work paid handsomely in the 73rd minute after Sharks were awarded a free kick outside the box after Mbongi’s foul on Henry Juma and Masaba scores did not disappoint making it 3-2.

The industrious Boys of Kariobangi were not done yet and poor ball clearance on the 75th minutes, just two minutes after the second goal saw them pay dearly after a Waambo’s header was headed in by Masaba to make it 3-3

Kariobangi has two remaining league matches which are seemingly undespisable for them, the next one being against struggling Mount Kenya United and a close-up match against readily relegated Vihiga United who played against league leaders Gor Mahia in a late match of the day at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Kariobangi will also play Everton on 7th July in a SportPesa sponsored match after edging out Bandari in the finals of the Sportpesa cup that was played in Tanzania early in the year.

Ulinzi on the other side will have to brace themselves for a tough season-ending as they faceKCB in their next match and finish up the season easy and smooth against struggling Mount Kenya United who is at the risk of being relegated after a season of financial struggles
