2 Reasons Why Egypt May Win The AFCON Title For The Eighth Time

We live in a life of chances. If you lose one, you may probably win the other. Egypt expects a lot from this coming African Cup of Nation (AFCON).

At the moment, the North African team brags about being captained by one of the most-rated players in the world, Mohammed Salah.

Averagely, the red-hot Liverpool forward has had a very good form this season and has helped the Reds show a superb performance in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Salah helped Liverpool finish in the second position, one point behind the leaders Manchester City. He has also helped the Reds reach the Champions League final, which is slated for June 1 at Madrid against Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26-year-old is also among the three players who tied for this season’s Golden Boot after scoring 22 goals each.

All eyes are now to see if he will use his football intelligence to help Egypt fly in the oncoming AFCON competition.

Having failed terribly in both two recent international competitions; AFCON 2015 and World Cup 2018, Egypt will be looking forward to redeeming their image also owing to the fact that oncoming Africa’s elite competition will be held in their own country.

The Pharaohs failed to proceed past the group stages in both competitions and may expect to up their game this year to avoid embarrassment at Cairo.
