World cup winner and PSG target boosts Chelsea camp ahead of face-off with Arsenal

Chelsea has been done a big boost ahead of the Europa League final with Arsenal following the return French star world cup-winner and PSG target N’Golo Kante returning to training after injury.

The pressing midfielder limped off with a hamstring injury after just 10 minutes of Chelsea ‘s game against Watford earlier this month which was thought to last a whole season but his return is fresh breath and hopes to his side as they prepare to clash with Arenal.

His manager Maurizio Sarri whose stay at the club is in turmoils admitted he had “made a mistake because, probably, today he had to rest” after he suffered a problem it was feared would rule him out for the rest of the season.

But he returned to training ahead of schedule on Monday as the Blues prepare to head to Baku to take on Arsenal in their quest for a European trophy.

The news is a major boost to Sarri ahead of a massive game amid rumours he could be axed as Chelsea boss and replaced by Frank Lampard considering that the Blues already have plenty of injury problems, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek joining Callum Hudson-Odoi on the sidelines with a ruptured Achilles.

Both Loftus-Cheek and Hudson-Odoi have undergone surgery and will not feature in Baku until next season, with the former being feared to be out for a whole season but Kante is now set to return as Sarri chases his first trophy as Chelsea boss.

He was touted as a potential target for the French champions in January and they have now set their sights on the Chelsea man as they ramp up their European ambitions.

He is top of their list having shelved interest in Everton ace Idrissa Gueye, with Kante, 28, considering the chance to take his last big pay-day.

Chelsea is already at risk of losing Eden Hazard to Real Madrid and are facing the prospect of a transfer ban which would be a very big blow to them if it is effected hence cannot afford to lose the Belgium international. They Have however extended the contract of French star and former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.
