Moses Kuria differs with other leaders on fake gold scam

Since the fake gold scam hit Kenya, different leaders have been giving different speculations, with many worried of the diplomatic relations between Kenya and United Arab Emirates.

In the scam, several Kenyans, among them political leaders have been linked, with Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula playing the contact role between Kenya and the Dubai contact representing Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

In the leaked audio bearing Wetangula’s conversation between him and the Dubai contact, the Ford Kenya leader mentions the names of President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga in the deal.

The gold consignment was to be shipped from Democratic Republic of Congo to Dubai through Nairobi. Interior CS Fred Matiang’i was also dragged in the conversation.

This has made Kenyans worry of the diplomatic relations between Kenya and UAE but the Gatundu South Member of parliament Moses Kuria has a different thought.

According to Kuria, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has never made a state visit to Kenya.

The lawmaker questions why Kenyans have allowed the Emiratis to turn a private transaction between one of their citizens and one of ours into a national-nay-diplomatic issue.

He says the transaction was done at individual levels thus should not involve the whole nation.

“Just thinking….Why have we allowed the Emiratis to turn a private transaction between one of their citizens and one of ours into a national-nay-diplomatic issue? Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has never made a state visit to Kenya,” he tweeted.
