The Standard Newspaper has confirmed what many knew but were whispering about: That Uhuru and Raila met the Dubai Sheikh in secret.
What was discussed is now the subject of spinning.
The Ruto wing believes that the meeting was part of the con game. The Raila wing is now pushing the narrative that it was baba that blew the whistle.
There are key questions about Raila’s involvement.
1) On what capacity did he accompany Uhuru to meet the Dubai leader?
2) If it was a State to State affair, why was the meeting kept secret?
3) Zaheer Jhanda, the main broker says that a hefty commission of 1.9 billion to be paid for the whole deal….is this the motivation?
4) The numerous visits to DRC disguised as development tours are a clear pointer to something fishy.
5) If it is true that Raila is the one that told Uhuru about the Gold Racket, how comes Weta, who was captured on tape has never been arrested? If it is true that Sheikh played the tape to Uhuru and Raila, how comes Weta has never been asked to record any statement?
6) Where were the security agencies, when Raila turned into investigator? How can such a huge scandal play out, and the the former premier Raila ends up doing a better job than DCI, NIS and Kenya Police?
7) How can we believe a cock and bull story about Raila having a phone on Loudspeaker in Dubai, and telling Sheikh that it is fake? Doesn’t the Sheikh ( who controls trillions of shillings) have intelligence officers, envoys and commercial attachés to do some ground work? Does he have to rely on an on our Jakom for confirmation?
I could ask more and more questions, but one thing is clear : if you see the usual Raila network both in Mainstream and Social Media trying to spin a narrative that makes him a “hero” or “savior” just know that kuna game inachezwa.
