Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo wants to rejoin boyhood club Estudiantes before he retires.
While he wouldn’t be considered a loss if he left this summer, Rojo admits he is keen on one day returning to where it all started for him as a professional footballer, at Estudiantes.
The Argentine defender has never been able to nail down a place in the starting line-up at United, but he has had spells at centre-back and left-back.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows he needs to get rid of players this summer, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Rojo became one of the first to go. He’s not a top quality defender and gets injured far too often.
Louis van Gaal was the manager responsible for signing Rojo from Sporting Lisbon. Like most of his signings as United, the player in question has not been able to cut the mustard.
Rojo played for Esturdiantes before joining Russian side Spartak Moscow in 2011, when his career as a footballer in Europe began.

He is now trying to fight his way back into the Argentina squad for this summer’s Copa America.
Like his United career, there are some real doubts over Rojo making the 23-man Argentina squad.
