Manchester City are keen to secure manager Pep Guardiola’s long-term future at the club with a new five-year deal worth a reported £100m.
The Spaniard became the first manager in English football history to win the domestic treble this season, beating Watford in last weekend’s FA Cup final to add to the club’s Premier League and League Cup success.
City also became the first team since Manchester U nited in 2009 to retain the Premier League title, having followed up last season’s 100-point record haul with another stunning season to secure back-to-back league titles.
According to The Sun, City are desperate to secure the long-term future of the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach and will offer the 48-year-old a new five-year deal on increased terms.
The contract would see Guardiola’s salary rise from £15m to £20m per year, keeping him at the Etihad for the coming seasons.
Guardiola has two-years remaining on the deal he signed when arriving at the club in 2016, with the City boss desperate to secure a maiden Champions League trophy for the club before deciding to leave Manchester.
