Zaheer reveals how Ruto allies tried to implore him to implicate Raila,Matiang’i in gold saga

Billionaire businessman Zaheer Jhanda who has also been placed at the centre of fake gold scandal alongside Jared Otieno has opened up more details surrounding the saga.

Since the scandal unveiled, Zaheer has maintained his innocence arguing that he has never been in gold business before, and cannot even differentiate between the fake gold and genuine gold.

“I have never done gold business in my life… I don’t know how genuine gold and fake gold looks like…” Zaheer Jhanda defended himself.

The scandal has linked several politicians from the Country, among them Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula, Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his opposition counterpart Raila Odinga.

However, in an interview with The Standard,  Jhanda said he was approached by four Rift Valley MPs a week ago who had heard of the gold scandal.

He claimed the lawmakers, implored him to implicate Raila and Matiang’i in the saga so that they could appear correct.

The businessman said he could not explain how the four MPs from Rift Valley had known about the gold deal he had signed with the foreigners in Dubai.

Do you think Wetang’ula is also being fixed in this scandal?

On Saturday while on his Tanga Tanga tours in Western Kenya, Deputy President William Ruto told the Raila-led opposition to keep off Uhuru’s name in the scandal in what looked like placing Raila at the centre of the scandal.

Ruto maintained that those accused should be held responsible at asked them to clear the airwaves about the scandal.
