Will Ingwe claw title defenders Gor to extend the trophy wait?

The highly coveted Kenya Premier League Mashemeji derby second leg is expected to go down as the two longtime rivals faceoff where Gor Mahia, the defending Champions seek to extend the gap between them and their nearest competitors Sofapaka as well as come close to lifting the trophy a third time in a row.

The two sides will be meeting for the 91st time since their first meeting which happened May 5th 1968 in a match played at City Stadium in Nairobi which doubles as the home ground of the Green army, Gor Mahia.

The two sides have lost their most recent match played on a weekday where Gor Mahia lost to Nzoia Sugar while the Leopard lotto the bankers of KCB.

But despite the loss to KCB, AFC Leopards say they are not ready to lose a second time to the defending champions who are in need on only two wins to be crowned the champions a third time in a row which would see them keep the trophy for good.

In their first leg, Gor Mahia won the match with goals from Muguna and Kahata with the latter setting for the other in the first quarter of the hour and the addition goal coming in the second half in the 67the minute from the lethal midfielder and great free kick taker.

AFC Leopards had a very poor start of the season and hs to rise from a relegation threatening zone to win eight consecutive matches and now are sitting at position 10 with 39 points on the log a total of27 points difference from their opponents, Gor Mahia.

Gor Mahia, on the other hand, has 66 points 8 clear of second-placed Bandari who overtook Sofapaka
