Real Estate moguls Peter and Sue Muraya’s houses in Lavington worth Ksh384 million have been put up for auction.

In an auction notice, a bank has invited potential buyers of the estate to attend a fire sale.

The notice also noted that the buyers will be required to pay Ksh48 million for each of the Suraya houses.

The estate, is noted to be siting on a 0.809-acre piece of land in the posh Lavington Estate in Nairobi.

“Under instructions from the charger’s advocates, we shall sell by public auction the properties together with buildings and improvements erected therein,” read the auctioneer’s notice.

According to Business Daily, the real estate developers had placed the price of each off plan development at Ksh48 million, putting the minimum possible value of the development at Ksh384 million.

According to reports, this is the second time the couple have found themselves in ‘trouble’ as they were dragged through a legal battle in December, 2018 after a contractor filed a high-profile petition in court seeking to wind up two real estate companies associated with them over non-payment of debt.

At the time, the contractor, Eternal Foundation Construction wanted the Muraya’s two companies liquidated.

The two companies, Sucasa and Encasa West Limited, had been called at more than Ksh1 billion.
