Ruto defends Pres. Kenyatta in the fake Gold Scam

Deputy President William Ruto has strongly come into President Uhuru Kenyatta’s defence after he was mentioned in the fake Gold scam that has seen the UAE Royal Family conned Ksh 250 billion.

While speaking to the congregation DP Ruto said that the culprits should not implicate the President in their dirty business, they were all alone when they boarded planes to Dubai to do their business of fake Gold.

“Mambo ya upinzani na Ukora, na Utapeli wasituletee na wasimuingize Rais Wa Kenya, Rais wa Kenya tunamjua tunamuelewa ni mtu anajua vile Kenya Inapaswa kuendelea Kenya”(The business of Corruption, Conning and lying to people should not be brought forth to us and they should not drag President Uhuru Kenyatta’s name into it,  we know our President and he is well aware of what and how to to go about the country’s development.)Said Ruto

In addition, he said, that the same people who conned the UAE Royal family are the same people who con the government and should not drag people’s names into their dirty business.

The DP’s statement came as the fake gold scam investigations are ongoing after the director of Criminal Investigations released an additional report which will now see six more people sermoned for questioning in the coming weeks

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has been highly linked in the scam and is said to currently be in China where he is with a section of Senators for an official visit.

The DPP ordered for investigations after  an audio widely shared on social media, with a voice many believed is for Senator Moses Wetangula could be heard on in heated telephone conversation with a ‘client’ presumably from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), demanding to know the status of what is believed to be a gold deal.
