Man United, Arsenal handed a boost in Moroccan star chase

With Manchester United and Arsenal linked with him, Ajax sporting director, Marc Overmars has confirmed that Hakim Ziyech will leave the club this summer.

After having an outstanding 2018 FIFA World Cup, Ziyech continued his form for his club, Ajax and played a starring role in the club’s domestic double and their impressive run in the Champions League that saw them exit at the semi-final hurdle.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable campaign in Amsterdam, scoring 21 goals and registering 24 assists in all competitions.

Overmars admitted that Ziyech will leave in the summer but his destination is still unknown, “He leaves when a top club comes. He is in focus because of his achievements in the Champions League. Many big clubs are buzzing around him. We promised Hakim [that we would] agree to a good transfer.”

Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been watching the Moroccan international, as have Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, with the pair eyeing him as a replacement for Arjen Robben and Christian Pulisic respectively.
