Being raised by a single parent is a tormenting experience if the views by netizens is a thing to go by. Nobody chooses to be in a particular set-up of a family but a complete and happy one is a gift from the creator.
The society we live in has been aligned to frown upon ladies who opt for single mothers kinda lifestyle.
Single mothers in Kenya have always been shunned by society and have been stereotyped as non-achievers and unsuccessful.
A renowned TV anchor and a single mum of one, Betty Kyallo challenged her social media fans to share their experiences on being raised by a single parent.
This was after her night TV show dubbed ‘Weekend with Betty’ where they discussed on overcoming absentee parents.
The response was massive with majority reduced to wailing when they remember how difficult the situations were.
Here are some reactions by KOT:
Both parents play different role in mentoring a child Betty and they should bring up a child in a balanced environment unless there is a case of a deceased parent. But it is very had to bring up the social and moral aspect of a child especially of an opposite gender to the parent

Growing alone gets you mature early as well since from the word go you know it is you and your world only, thats why its hard to find a lazy orphan, most are hardworking and got awesome morals, they are ever careful with their life's. ✔✔✔

That is obvious..people who are raised by both parents have very good morals in the society.. Compared to those raised by one parent..The Bible says blessings of children are imparted by biological father..

Betty, I agree there can be a case of single parenting but the worst scenario of it is when the parents separate. The pain and gap it can cause to a child is far suppressing. Both parents complement in the bring up of a child both through gentic inheritance and environment

This discussion comes barely a week after the prestigious Kianda School was condemned for discriminating kids of single mothers.
The prestigious girl school located in Westland, Nairobi is said to be Catholic based and runs on strong Christian values.
The school checks on the family background before it can admit the students.
According to sources, the school management believes, children raised by a single mother have different character traits from those who have grown with both parents.
