SoNy Sugar Completely Sinks Mt Kenya United’s Hope of Featuring in the KPL Next Season

When hope is gone, life also goes with it. Mount Kenya United’s hope of featuring in the Kenya Premier League next season was completely thwarted by SoNy Sugar on Saturday during their 31st round of the League.

SoNy Sugar seemed to overpower the hosts took advantage of all the opportunities they got to help them bag all the three crucial points.

Two goals by Derick Otanga and one by Salmon Omollo in the first half saw the visitors get an early lead, completely crushing the spirit of the already hopeless Mt Kenya United.

In the second half, however, the hosts managed to have some control of the game and managed to wipe their tears with one goal in the 78th minute.

The game ended 3-1 with no one able to see the other’s post after the Mt Kenya United’s lone goal.

The above result means that Mt Kenya United have officially bid goodbye to the Premier League and has automatically been relegated from Kenya’s elite competition.

SoNy Sugar, on the other hand, have jumped to the fourth position ahead of Kakamega Homeboyz and Mathare United, though with a match ahead of them.
