What’s your before bed daily routine?

Well, your hair is probably the last thing you would think of at night. I mean, you are just going to sleep and it’s not like you are meeting your prince charming in your dreams. But hey, you should really start caring about your nighttime routine. In one way or the other, some night time habits could be ruining your hair.

Hair breakage and a receding hairline is nothing anyone would want. So, for the sake of your hair, ditch these night time habits:

1. Sleeping with wet hair

If you are too sleepy to dry your hair after taking a shower, then do it the following day when you have enough time. Wet hair is brittle and can break easily. If you really must sleep with your hair wet, use a leave-in hair conditioner to prevent breakage.

2. Cotton pillowcases

This is especially for girls who don’t bother to wear a sleeping cap. Cotton is quite tough and the friction between your pillow and hair may lead to breakage. Invest in a silk or satin pillowcase or sleeping cap.

3. Not brushing your hair

You might think it’s unnecessary to brush your hair before bed but it’s important. Your hair tangles when not brushed. The knots will not only make it harder for you to disentangle but it can also break easily.

4. Not tying up your hair

This may not be so much of an issue if your hair is not long enough. But if your hair is long, don’t sleep without tying it up lest you lose some strands to breakage.

5. But don’t tie tightly

Just make a loose bun enough to ensure your hair is not all over. Tying too tightly is inviting a receding hairline.
