Bungoma Senator and Ford Kenya Party Leader Moses Wetangula has finally been cornered and it only remains to be seen how he will move on from this one.

The Senator has for sometime now been at the center of the ongoing probe into the Fake Gold Scandal that has put Kenya on a collision course with the leadership of the United Arab Emirates.

Things have even got thicker after Wetangula dragged President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition Chief Raila Odinga into his mess.

In a now viral audio recording, Wetangula try’s to calm down a Dubai Gold Investor believed to be Ali Zandi.

Zandi has connections with the Dubai Sheikh.

In the audio recording, an Angry Zandi asks Wetangula why he is yet to get his Gold consignment even after paying Wetangula and others their money.

Wetangula then tell’s Zandi not to panic as he will ensure his valuables get to him. He even uses the names of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition Chief Raila Odinga to look relevant.

Well, Wetangula using Raila’s name to convince the Arabs he conned should come as a surprise to most of us. The same Wetangula has lately criticised Odinga and said that he does not have what it takes to be a great leader.

He once said that the manner in which Raila runs his party (ODM) is like a Gestapo, nothing happens without his concession… and that he tried extending those dictatorial tendencies into the coalition (Nasa).

In his conversation with Zandi, Wetangula acknowledges the fact that Raila Odinga is an influential man who has the ability to convince President Uhuru Kenyatta to heed to his calls.

BELOW IS THE FULL CONVERSATION

Wetang’ula: “How are you?”

Zandi: “Not very good. I don’t know how to answer you.”

Wetang’ula: “No, something is happening?”

Zandi: “What is going on?”

Wetang’ ula: “Raila met with the head of state on this matter and explained to him and the head of state has called the minister concerned [Interior CS Fred Matiang’i] and he is seeing him tomorrow. He is my neighbour and I have seen him this morning and he has told me the head of state has been away in Mauritius for a week. He will see him tomorrow and he says hopefully before the end of the week, we will be able to settle this matter once and for all.”

Zandi: “Why are you bringing in other people?”

Wetang’ula: “Let me tell you what is happening. Since Raila brought this matter to the attention of the boss [Uhuru], let him also go and explain to him what has been done so far, then he will communicate to you.”

Zandi: “Who will communicate it to me?”

Wetang’ula: “Through either Raila’s people or through Zaheer [Jhanda] to send your vessel to come and pick the items. So it is okay.”
