Why Mt Kenya United Must Win Against SoNy Sugar

Kenya Premier League which began on December 8, last year is slated to end on May 29, 2019. The season has been marred with several challenges including few cases of match-fixing, clubs failing to show up on match days due to financial instability among others.

Among the clubs that have severely strained include Mount Kenya Football Club who have failed to show up more than once because of inadequate finance.

The strain has seen the club stagnate at the bottom of the League standing for weeks now and this will definitely result in relegation.

According to relegation rules in Kenya Premier League, two lowest placed teams (17th & 18th)  at the table automatically get relegated. The 16th placed team squares off with the third-best team from the National Super League for the third promotion slot.

Mount Kenya United are, therefore, at the verge of being relegated.

However, there is still some little hope for the former Nakumatt FC club. They need to win all their remaining four matches while Zoo Kericho and Vihiga United lose all the remaining matches.

It may seem a mission impossible but all they have to do is start and do the possible.

All these will be possible if they start by beating SoNy Sugar in their match on Saturday.

Mt Kenya United are currently at the bottom of the table with 18 points after playing 30 matches, 7 points behind Vihiga United and 10 points behind Zoo Kericho.
