Manchester United in talks with Monaco for 16 year old star Hannibal Mejbri

Manchester United have reportedly launched a bid for a 16-year old Monaco wonder kid Hannibal Mejbri who is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in France with Monaco desperate to keep hold of him.

United are said to have been following him for a move in January and there is uncertainty over his future again, amid claims his contract has not been ratified.

Monaco had hoped to tie France Under-16s Mejbri down to a new five-year-deal but now face losing him for nothing with reports indicating United have submitted an offer for the teenager and have been in talks for ‘several months’.

The teenager has been absent from training and matches for the final weeks of the season as he pushes for a move.

He is believed to be open to moving to the Premier League with his family having made contact with the legal commission of Ligue 1, urging for the current agreement to be ripped up.

United would be willing to offer the 16-year-old better wages than the offer on the table from Monaco and would give him a larger signing-on fee but any deal will depend on the contract wrangle, with the dispute likely to rumble on for months.

Other European giants seeking for his signature are Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have all been credited with an interest and have been monitoring developments at Monaco closely.

But United have made the first move and believe they stand a good chance of snaring Mejbri to Old Trafford.
