What is it with Kenyan politicians and launching projects? Where did we get this culture? An MP once traveled to his constituency to launch a DSTV installation.
But Tharaka Nithi governor Muthomi Njuki, might just have put himself in the history books for launching one of the smallest toilets in the world which, according to some Kenyans is smaller than a matchbox.
This might as well be the narrowest and smallest public toilet in the world, the size of a matchbox. Fat people in Tharaka Nithi should sue their governor, Muthomi Njuki. Hii Kenya sihami. 😂 pic.twitter.com/OZgPxs3pju

To make matters more interesting, the governor arrived at the scene in an open Land Cruiser V8, waving to Wananchi, who were perhaps supposed to praise him for a job well done. Really?
Proudly funded by Tharaka/Nithi County Government. Well done Muthomi Njuki, the record for the smallest and possibly most expensive toilet of its size in Kenya goes to you.
This is the same Gov. who spent Sh19.42 Million of county funds to buy himself a car. pic.twitter.com/w70onUtzsH

Some people have said the 4-wheeler was bigger than the toilet the governor launched on Wednesday.
UNTIL AFRICANS STOP CELEBRATING THEIR USELESS LEADERS AND START STONING THEM WE MAY NOT MAKE MUCH PROGRESS…..

According to social media sources, the toilet is worth 2.5 million shillings. My country people, isn’t this an insult?
Dear @EACCKenya @DCI_Kenya I gather that this tiniest toilet in the world costed Tharaka Nithi County Taxpayers ksh2.5Million. Kamata! pic.twitter.com/yKIxAFW1XT

Sasa watu wanene watafanya nini hapa? You can enter this toilet and fail to come out. This tiny thing should be demolished and the governor arrested.

The Auditor General revealed in April, that the governor spent Sh19.42 million of county funds to buy himself an official car – a Land Cruiser VX – in a clear case of blatant misuse of public funds.
The millions spent on the governor’s car are enough to build about 40 permanent classrooms for the many pupils learning under unfavourable conditions in the county, assuming that the cost of one classroom is Sh500,000.
The amount is also enough to connect a good number of households in the county to clean water. The money can also stock dispensaries with medicine and other requirements.
