Sossion calls for constitution change to overthrow Magoha

Skirmishes between Kenya National Union of Teachers leader Wilson Sossion and Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha have only intensified as Sossion now wants the law changed to make sure that all cabinet members are first legislators.

This, Mr Sossion told journalists on Thursday, claiming that there has been the rise of ‘arrogant’ cabinet members, singling out CS Magoha, who refuse to dialogue with stakeholders before making decisions.

“We are seeing arrogant cabinet ministers who have no respect, and the minister of education has been very unfortunate, in the chain of arrogant minister,” said an agitated Sossion.

“We shall be recommending that the constitution be amended so that all cabinet ministers, moving forward, shall be elected members of parliament who can sit at the floor of the house and be accountable to the people of Kenya,” he added.

The Knut leader drew examples from former Education ministers such as the late Prof George Saitoti and Mutula Kilonzo who he said never abused the importance of consulting with stakeholders.
