A senior police boss is facing a prolonged jail term should he be convicted over illegal actions he undertook while in Garissa.
Inspector George Wanambisi Makokha is said to have released a refugee from custody in total disregard for a court order.
While the court had ordered that a refugee- Rahmo Siyat Issack be escorted to Dagahaley refugee camp upon payment of an Sh20,000 fine, Wanambisi is said to have released the refugee without completing the payment.

He faces a second count of disobedience of lawful orders contrary to Section 131 of the Penal Code, CAP 63 that he released Rahmo Siyat Issack to her family instead of escorting her to Dagahaley refugee camp upon paying a fine of Kshs. 20,000

He denied both counts and was released on a bond of Kshs. 50,000 with one surety of the same amount or cash bail of Kshs. 20,000.
