A man whose daughter framed to serve a life sentence has up to four months to know his fate after a court judge dismissed a fresh application where the daughter recanted her earlier statement.

The man, Musyoki Wambua,  had gone to court to overturn an earlier decision which handed him a life sentence.

This was after Wambua’s daughter told the court that her mother had coerced her to frame the father.

Wambua was detained in 2011 and has since been serving his sentence until the daughter came calling with a new piece of evidence.

However, the judges handling the case said the evidence had come late in the case, and that admitting it at such a time would set a bad precedent.

“The court set timeliness for filing and producing evidence. That time has since elapsed,” their ruling stated.

A case aired by Citizen TV revealed that the convict’s wife had been having a longstanding battle to own a parcel of land, and she was pushing to every length to eliminate Mr Wambua.

His case will be determined after four months.
