Manchester United planning a double swoop for Crystal Palace duo defenders

Manchester United is rumoured to be racing against time to sign two Crystal Palace duo of Aaron Wan Bissaka and Patrick Van Aanholt who are a right back and left-back respectively after displaying a good defence in the ended season.

The Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to overhaul his defence this summer with a pair of full-backs are a particular demand where the two fit in squarely.

Manchester defence has been in a wanting situation for some tie now and an overhaul will be necessary especially after the exit of Valencia who played his last match over the weekend in their last match losing to relegated side Cardiff.

As it stands the only defender left is Smalling and Ashley Young who was converted to the position from being a winger but with his age, he is expected to be unfit soon hence the search for a lasting solution where Wan-Bissaka, 21, is high on all the club’s shopping list, but the Eagles are desperate to hold onto the highly-rated defender.

United’s interest in the England Under-21 star is well documented but their admiration for Van Aanholt could raise a few eyebrows.

Despite Luke Shaw being crowned Player of The Year, Solskjaer wants an experienced Premier League operator to provide genuine competition for the left-back position.

Dutch international, Van Aanholt, 28, has another two years on contract at Selhurst Park after moving to South London from Sunderland two years ago was one of the success stories at Selhurst Park last term, making 40 appearances and scoring four goals.

His energy and attacking instincts have caught the eye of Solskjaer and his coaching staff who feel he could be a viable alternative to the England international in defence.

The youngster has been linked with a move to Serie A, with Juventus and Roma in the front page of monitoring his situation but United reckon a deal could be done with the Eagles to take both defenders to Old Trafford.
