Mike Sonko welcomes Kabadi national players in style

 

The National Kabaddi team were today treated to a warm welcome at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Nairobi Governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko.

The team clinched a bronze in kabaddi Men’s world cup championship in Taiwan. The team lost 34-31 to China in the semi- finals but beat big teams like Malaysia in the quarter finals among other countries.

On his Facebook page, the governor congratulated the national Kabadi team which clinched bronze in the on-going Men’s world cup championship in Taiwan.

“Welcoming Kabadi Team……Congratulations are in order to the National KABADI team for clinching a bronze in kabaddi Men’s world cup championship in Taiwan. The team lost 34-31 to China in the semi- finals but beat big teams like Malaysia in the quarter finals among other countries. Bravo Kenya”.

While celebrating the success of the team, the governor promised to bankroll Harambee Stars with Ksh20 million if they reach the quarterfinals of Afcon 2019.

He even vowed to sell some of his property just to honour the pledge provided they met the target.

 

“Now you can take this to the bank. If Harambee Stars makes us proud by qualifying at least for the quarterfinals in the Africa cup of Nations in Egypt, I will sell one of my beach plots or take a loan against it and reward them with 20,000,000/=,” vowed the governor.
