The Harambee stars squad to represent Kenya at the Afcon 2019 in Egypt has continued to elicit more reactions among excited Kenyan fans who are looking forward to one of the best tournaments in history.
Coach Sebastien Migne made a decision to leave out Zesco United striker Jesse Were despite enjoying stellar form in the Zambian Premier League and the CAF Confederations cup.
Migne has said he decided to leave out the lanky striker because he is not good enough to play for the national team at the moment.
For Regional Balance, Jesse Were could not be included in the Harambee Stars #AFCON2019. We cannot have all LUO's Team. That is where Masoud Juma comes in

“He has had the chance to impress for Kenya but on many occasions, he never lives up to the task. He has enjoyed over 26 call-ups but he never scores goals for the team.” The coach told journalists.
Harambee Star's Coach has a personal problem with Jesse Were there is no justification to leave him out of #AFCON2019 Kenya team.

“Were might be the leading player currently in the Zambia league but he is yet to carry the form to the national team and all I can assure him is that the door is still open for him, we have not shut it for him.
Despite his great form for club, Zesco United, Jesse Were has not made the Harambee Stars #AFCON2019 provisional squad, nothing surprising though, coach Migné has never liked him for reasons best known to him. pic.twitter.com/sAxnWzPkXT

Migne has maintained that Were still has a chance to play for the national team as long as he proves himself in future
“He will still play for the team but first of all, he must prove himself outside club duty.”
Migne's decision is final. We can only sympathise with Jesse Were who has again been excluded from Harambee Stars 30 man squad a head of AFCON set for next month in Egypt

Migne has called up KPL top scorer Allan Wanga and Libya based Masud Jumma as the only out and out strikers in the team. Sofapaka’s John Avere is the surprise name in the team, though the youngster has scored 7 goals this season. Michael Olunga is the big name in the list that alsos includes Paul Were and Ovella Ochieng.
