‘Unprofessional, Slow and Corrupt!’ Kenyans Blast Huduma Clerks

I have not heard anything good about the Huduma Namba registration clerks, the people who have mandated to take Kenyans to the promised land, where access to government services will be as easy as 1,2,3.

The clerks have been accused of being too slow, making people to wait on queues for hours before being served.

On Monday, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i said that the mass registration will not be extended beyond the 18th May, deadline because the clerks are being paid a 1000 per day and it now seems it was a blow to these guys who will soon be jobless.

Matiang’i also said that the registration centers will be open from 6AM-6PM but some Kenyans have complained that some centres were not open at 9AM.

The clerks have also been accused of failing to protect the privacy of people’s data by allowing many people to surround their tables instead of maintaining a queue where an agent can serve one person at ago.

In one of the centers, a clerk had the audacity to tell one Kenyan to go and be registered by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i.

In Nakuru County, the Huduma clerks were accused of demanding from between KSh 50 and 200 before registering Wananchi.

There were no clerks at Waterfront Mall on Tuesday morning despite a very long queue.

Some Kenyans have vowed not to register for Huduma Namba citing the clerks as a reason. Others have said they don’t have a reason to register.

“People who have registered for Huduma Namba kindly share your stories and selfies of how you are enjoying better government services to encourage doubters as the deadline approaches”
