PHOTOS: Mangororo aside! another Coastal region school in a sorrow state exposed

Last week, photos of the sorrow state of Mangororo primary school in Ganze, Kilifi county surfaced on social media, exposing political leaders from the region badly.

Ganze Member of Parliament Hon Teddy Mwambire was hugely blamed for the situation, but came out to defend himself arguing that he has many schools in such a condition.

In Mangororo, pupils have been learning in flooded mud-walled classes without desks. They have been sitting on building blocks to avoid the flash floods that invests their classes every time it rains.

After the photos surfaced, local leaders from the coast region including Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa came in for help whereby they donated desks and commissioned construction of a classroom.

But is Mangororo’s situation worse than the situation of some schools in Kwale County? Well, on Tuesday, another photos emerged exposing another sorry state of Tumaini primary school in Kinango constituency, Kwale county.

The mud-walled classes at Tumaini primary are makuti and grass-thatched. However, the roof is already roofed, threatening the lives of pupils during rainy seasons. It is believed that currently their is no learning that is going on at the school.

Tumaini is a government school registered in 2007. It’s survival now is by the mercy of few well wishers.
