Netizens have for long time complained over president Uhuru Kenyatta’s online long time no see situation wondering why their leader would decide to leave them in the dark when is followers wish to know the way forward on public issues and thoughts as well.
Well State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena has explained the deactivation of President Uhuru’s social media accounts.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Maisha on Monday morning, she stated that Uhuru’s accounts were personal and had the right to activate or deactivate them as he wished.
“President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Social Media accounts are his personal accounts. He has the right to activate or deactivate them as he wills. He has his reasons, and we respect that” she spoke.
An official State House tweet has confirmed this as well.

This has not been received well by many Kenyans who have expressed a feeling of offence on the presidents decision to shut them(the nation) out.
He now doesn’t nee our votes so he can cut communication links are some of the responses that have been given.
He now doesn't need our votes so he can cut communication links…#DynastiesMustFall

A citizen has reminded Statehouse that when the social Media was shut down, Nzioka Waita said they had been suspended temporarily to allow for the necessary remedial measures to be taken then suddenly Dena says his accounts opening is a personal decision confusing the wananchi.

Uhuru has as well been reminded that as long as he is the president of the republic of Kenya he does no have that luxury to make his accounts personal telling him they are public untill he exits office.
As long as he is the president of the Republic of Kenya he does not have that luxury. His social media accounts are mali ya umma until he leaves office.Pass that message to him!

He is the President of #Kenya …and as such I feel his social media accounts ought to be official …
(That statement explains a lot – Leaves A lot to be desired! No wonder😑😐)
He cannot just deactivate them on a whim…

Do you think the president has the right to personalise his account?
President Uhuru Kenyatta has maintained a low profile since his return from China almost two weeks ago.
His absence from the media has sparked speculation about his whereabouts with some Kenyans questioning whether or not he is in the country.
