Premier League title race: Where is trophy, Liverpool or Man City? | Football | Sport
Many fans will argue that both sides deserve the Premier League title this season, but there will be only one side lifting silverware once the final whistle blows.

With the Premier League title race going to the wire for the first time since 2014, Manchester City know they have their and Liverpool’s destiny in their own hands.

So what happens with the trophy? Will it start at one ground and be flown via helicopter towards the other each time there is a goal? Will it just stay at the Amex?

Plans have already been put in place to ensure the process is straight forward whatever happens on the final day of the season.

The real Premier League trophy will be on the south coast at Brighton and it will be what City lift should they beat the Seagulls.

At Anfield there will be an identical replica in place, which Liverpool will lift should the unthinkable happen.

That will then be replaced by the real trophy in due course.

Manchester City will be made to wait for their coronation though at full-time.

According to The Argus, Brighton are set to engage in a lap of honour with their families to thanks supporters for their efforts this season.

Once that has been completed, City will have their ceremony and lift the trophy.

Medals will also be at both grounds just incase there is a dramatic turn of events.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted he is only concentrating on his side and their match against Wolves but shared reasons to be optimistic that Brighton can defy expectations.

“We wanted to qualify for this final and win it but we will have to see what Brighton is doing,” he told Sky Sports.

“Everyone seems to think we will beat Wolves and from what it sounds like, everyone is 100 per cent sure City will beat Brighton but I think they have showed already a surprising reaction at Arsenal.

Virgil van Dijk and Sergio Agüero when Liverpool and Manchester City met in January.

“That was impressive and now without any pressure, Brighton are able to play good football. They know against City they will have to defend a lot.

“That’s football, nothing is certain but I really don’t think about it. The only thing I’m thinking about is what we can do against Wolves.”
