Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is mad, and he is letting his players know that they won’t have it easy anymore!
Indeed, the Norwegian is looking for his charges to hit the ground running for the 2019-20 campaign following a disappointing end to the current campaign, the Red Devils missing out on silverware and a place in the top four.
Solskjaer says a title challenge next season is unlikely but is hopeful that if they can have a good August then that will lay the foundations for an improved season.
However, to be able to make a fast start, the former United striker believes his players will need to return to Carrington in good physical condition ahead of their planned visits to Australia, Singapore and China in July for four friendly matches.
Solsjkaer has warned that those who don’t come back in shape will be left at home, claiming he doesn’t want to waste too much time on conditioning during pre-season. Solskjaer said: “The players have all got their programmes to do over the summer.
We expect them to be ready to go on July 1 when we start. “We’re not going to use the first 10 days to build them up. They should be ready to go.
We’ve got a long summer break than any of the other challengers and we need to use that as an advantage.
“It’s not like a threat, but whoever is not ready on July 1 will probably stay here and not travel with us because we only want players we can use over there.”
