Raila reveals details of his meeting with Kikuyu elders at his Opoda Farm

ODM leader Raila Odinga on Saturday hosted a delegation of Kikuyu leaders and elders from Nakuru County at his Opoda farm in Bondo.

Taking to his official twitter account, Raila said they had discussed on a range of issues including national unity and reconciliation and the ongoing war against corruption.

Community leaders were under the stewardship of former Molo MP Njenga Mungai and Musa Sirma of Eldama Ravine.

Although Mr Odinga did not divulge into finer details, he has however been supporting peace initiatives with President Uhuru Kenyatta. The two have also been vocal about the war against corruption in recent months.

But Deputy President William Ruto has often poked holes into the war against graft, insisting that it’s selective and is well choreographed to sabotage his 2022 presidential bid.

Also, while Uhuru and Raila have defended their handshake, saying that it’s focused at bringing peace and stability, Ruto has often dismissed it as a campaign tool for 2022 polls.

The delegation was first received at Kang’o ka Jaramogi before visiting Raila’s Opoda Farm. Mr Mungai hinted a possible support for Raila in 2022 polls, revisiting the former Prime Minister’s political support to leaders from Mt Kenya.
