(PICTURES) Apostle Ruto takes the Gospel to Kakuma

‘Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.’ that was the message from Mtume, ndugu William Ruto when he led residents of Turkana County for an Interdenominational Crusade at Kakuma town.

Kakuma is historically known as the home as one of the largest refugee camps in Kenya and we know this also means poverty. But we hope this will change, when God hears the prayers that offered by Ndugu William Ruto.

In fact thousands of people braved the scorching sunshine to hear the word of God. Those in attendance included Governor Josphat Nanok and Area MPs, who are rarely seen in church.

Unlike in a previous visit to Nyeri town, police were on the ground to provide security for Kenya’s second most powerful man. Though you would question why he would need security when he has got God on his side.

The Turkana residents were allowed to Praise God in their own languages and it was a scene to be hold. The only problem is that their leaders didn’t carry a Bible like the DP (we hope he doesn’t quote a non-existent verse)

Ruto winds up his two day tour of Turkana county today, having commissioned several high impact projects. Lodwar residents will benefit from the Turkana East Technical Training Institute, which the DP said will enable young people transition to independent living, self-reliance and empower them to actualise our development programmes.

He also commissioned the construction of Aro TTC in Turkana South, the first teachers’ college in Turkana County since independence.

He will leave Turkana a happy man, having converted Josphat Nanok, an ODM governor, to the famous Tanga Tanga team. He has also converted many Turkanas to the Lord.
