Kenya’s very own Renowned actress Lupita Nyong’o is making headlines in the US over photos of her and fellow actress Janelle Monae.
The two had attended an event dubbed Met Gala 2019 which is an annual fundraiser for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City.
In the photos doing rounds on social media, Janelle, who is openly gay, is seen cosying up to the Black Panther actress.
The images took Americans by surprise with many wondering whether Lupita is in a relationship with Monae.
Though both have yet to respond to the allegations, many US citizens believe that the two are an item.
“I don’t really get invested in celebrity relationships, but if Janelle Monae and Lupita Nyong’o are really dating, I might die,” commented Sierra Siwa on Twitter.
Others argued that Janelle may be using the Oscar award winner to make her ex-girlfriend, Tessa Thompson, jealous.

“My theory is that Tessa Thompson and Janelle Monáe broke up and are both trying to make the other jealous with Lupita Nyongo,” stated a Twitter user by the name Bianca.
Though Janelle is an actor, her music is more popular than her movies.
In 2015, she teamed up with fellow musician Jidenna to make a song by the name Yoga which rocked Kenyan airwaves.
