Dimitar Berbatov has warned Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United ahead of next season.
The former Manchester United ace has insisted the three clubs need to step up if they are to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool next season. The two clubs, currently separated by a point, are more than 20 points clear of the chasing pack in the Premier League.
“Liverpool and City have raised the bar ever higher in the Premier League this season and it’s up to the other teams to catch them,” he told Betfair.
“Of the chasing pack, Spurs are getting there. They’ve shown that by reaching the Champions League final, which is a brilliant achievement. The other giants need to step up because they don’t want to be left behind. All of them will want to upgrade and build for the future.”
It is all but confirmed that Manchester United will not be featuring in next season’s Champions League.
