Manchester United on Thursday awarded their defender Luke Shaw the player of the year after winning two accolades, a thing that didn’t go well with many United fans.
Shaw has had a mixed season and has been accused of making the Red Devils concede 52 goals just this season.
The left-back has made 40 appearances for United across all competitions this season, as United failed to reach the top four in the Premier League and were eliminated early in the League Cup.
Notably, Shaw was criticised on Sunday as United slipped to a 1-1 draw against Huddersfield.
Luke together with all other United defenders have let United down and has made them unable to bring even a single trophy home despite huge spending on their salary.
After United had given him the awards, fans did not take it lightly. Instead, they faulted the team for being impractical.
And this summer, United are set to spend big on their defence as they look to mount a challenge towards the top four next term.
United have failed to win any title this season and worst of all, failed to finish in the top-four position.
