The new father always appears to be happy always but surprisingly, he has been through some tough times.
In an interview with NTV Live show, Terence real name Lawrence Macharia revealed that he spent seven years of his life in the streets.
Terence revealed that he lost his mum at the age of nine and from then on, things took a drastic turn.
He and his brothers were forced to move in with their grandma in a single-roomed house situated in Nairobi’s Mlango Kubwa slum.
Terence had to fight for space and basic resources with his uncles, siblings and other relatives who all had to live together in the tiny room.
The deplorable lifestyle choked him and he resolved to go to the streets. While in the streets, Terence revealed that he abused all kinds of drugs used by street urchins.
Terence said that he sniffed glue, smoked bhang and Cigarettes to addiction levels.
“It was a tough thing. Street life is not easy. Terence said
I stopped being a street urchin when I was around 16-years old,
I lived in the streets until Mr. Muli came for my rescue and took me to a rehabilitation center where he gradually liberated himself from drugs.
Now Terence is famous for his Kamami jokes. He is father one one boy.
His life is a real testimony that no situation is permanent.
