Huduma Namba steps in to solve Siaya pro-longed trouble

Huduma is indeed Heavenly sent to the Siaya County. Governor Cornel Rasanga has finally find a cure.

Governor Rasanga has been having a problem with auditing of county employees.

Speaking yesterday during the launch of the exercise at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Memorial Park in Bondo, the governor said that the county could be losing millions of money through people working in the county government illegally.

He said that the NIIMS will help them reduce the wage bill by weeding out ghost workers and any other person with double salaries.

“I would like to urge all the eligible citizens to ensure that they all register for Huduma Namba because it will also help the government in planning,” said Rasanga.

He added that the system will also prevent payment of salaries to deceased workers.

The County Commissioner Michael Ole Tialal said they have already registered 618, 154 since the exercise kicked off last month.

“We were targeting to register 1.02 million people at the end of the exercise on May 17. This is a positive progress and we are hoping that by the end of the exercise, we shall have registered at least 90 per cent,” said Tialal.

The commissioner however decried over lack of birth certificates and identity cards, saying many people were turning up at the registration centres without the two documents.

“I have instructed the chiefs and their assistants to make a follow up on the orphans who do not have birth certificates in order to assist them,” said Tialal.
