Wahu reveals roots of her music life

The legendary musician, Wahu Kagwi, and sunshine hitmaker shared a throwback photo which shows how her music life began. The mother of one shared a page of her former school songbook and the song appeared on it.

The alumni of Precious Blood School narrated; “A special TBT to me. A Precious Blood alumni who cleared well over 15 years after me sent this to me.

It’s a portion of PBs songbook. Showers of Blessings is actually the 1st song I ever wrote. We wrote it together with my friend Wangeci, for our inter-house music competition.

Who knew that Showers Of Blessings, a song written by a couple of 17-year-olds in high school, would make it into the PB songbook, and be sang by Pberians for years after.

Wahu is a former model and University of Nairobi student, graduating in mathematics. She started her musical career in 2000. Her first three singles were “Niangalie”, “Esha” and “Liar”.

Wahu released her first major hit, “Sitishiki” around 2005. Some of her music has been produced by the Ogopa DJ’s. She is married to Nameless, another award-winning Kenyan musician. They have 2 daughters, one of who whom she dedicated her biggest hit to date “Sweet Love”.
