Job creation at Tatu City: a scam, or actual redemption for youth?

Anyone on Twitter today might have certainly been drawn by the glaring #JobCreationAtTatuCity, and in times of high unemployment rates such as these, it sure must have gained traction.

However, in the era of employment baits for such as AIM Global and fraudulent sales and marketing jobs, Tatu City should surely have something to show for the noise they are making online.

Tatu City is a development by a group of private investors such as Chris Kirubi and Darshan Chandaria.

It is poised to help in decongesting Nairobi by introducing a new face of modern and technological establishments to the vision of the Nairobi Metro 2030 Strategy, and part of Kenya Vision 2030.

The City will entail mixed-use development with homes, schools, offices, a shopping district, medical clinics, nature areas, a sport and entertainment complex and manufacturing area for more than 150,000 residents and tens of thousands of day visitors.

All these set to certainly create employment, but have they really been transparent and straight forward with their employment strategy?

This was not felt by several Kenyans online.

While the City is yet to come to its full realisation, the hope is that more actual jobs with a transparent plan to enroll the thousand of unemployed youth into the job market.
