Furious Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko ow has now taken his wars to the doorstep of Interior Ministry with accusations against Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho .

Sonko believes that Kibicho is all behind his woes adding that he has been paying bloggers with intentions of tainting his image.

Sonko’s explosive allegations came after the Daily Nation ran a story indicating he was under probe over the source of money that he splashes around.

In a Facebook post, the county chief responded saying there were no investigations against him and instead shifted blame to the PS saying he has been paying people to mud-sling his image.

Professional auditors are detailed in their work especially where they make allegations. You can’t just say money was stolen or withdrawn and you don’t disclose the details. I remember when the auditor general in his 2014/2015 report exposed the theft of KSh 650 million by PS Kibicho he gave proper details of figures and exact dates,” said Sonko.

So please ignore these fake stories by Interior Security Ministry Spokesman Chacha Mwita on behalf of his boss PS Karanja Kibicho who thinks he can intimidate me to go slow on exposing the theft and graft by himself, Kamanda, Peter Kenneth, and his other cartel friends. I shall not be cowed,” he said.

The flamboyant governor further raised questions on investigations against Kibicho who he claims stole over KSh 400 million in purchase of a piece of land for Ugandan embassy when he was serving in the Foreign Affairs ministry. Sonko claims the land was valued at KSh 250 million but 650 million was paid out, leaving the PS with a pocket change of KSh 400 million.

Why is corruption and theft by some senior government officials being downplayed? Why are smart thieves in government being spared? Why should one be allowed to stay in office to use confidential budget to pay editors and bloggers to fight those who want him to account for theft of public money?” he posed.
