Tottenham Hotspurs Midfielder Victor Wanyama has received online backlash for closely associating himself with Deputy President William Ruto.

Wanyama who was doing the noble act of appreciating DP Ruto for his words of encouragement after qualifying for the UEFA Champions League Final, got himself at the receiving end as KOT ‘warned’ him to ‘leave alone politicians’

This started when the Deputy President on Thursday morning congratulated both Divock Origi of Liverpool and Wanyama of Tottenham for their great exploits in the Champions League Semi-Finals.

This prompted Wanyama to respond through Twitter thanking the DP for the congratulatory remarks.

“Thank you sir,” tweeted Wanyama.

This caught the attention of funny KoT who stormed Wanyama’s Twitter page to ‘warn’ the international footballer against leaning so much on politicians.

Others joked the need for Wanyama and his counterpart Divock Origi who plays for Liverpool to jet in the country to register for the hyped Huduma Number.
